Todd McFarlane Reveals That Spawn is "On His Way" to Mortal Kombat 11

This could make the perfect crossover if it happens.

The upcoming new installment of the long-running Mortal Kombat franchise made an explosive introduction at The Game Awards last week with the reveal of a brutal first trailer. Although few details are available at this time regarding the roster of fighters or the possibility of new character releases over time, we may have just gotten our first huge hint at a special crossover fighter that should be making his way to the game at some point: Todd McFarlane's Spawn.

The legendary comic creator held an "Ask Me Anything" session on Reddit today and took a variety of fan questions. One fan decided to ask if a crossover between Spawn and Mortal Kombat would happen and, much to the surprise of everybody, McFarlane answered with a little bit more than just a "maybe," teasing that the character is already on his way.

This could indicate that plans to bring Spawn to Mortal Kombat 11 have been in motion for some time, which would make sense considering that McFarlane is presently working on a new movie that aims to be a "dead serious" and "scary" reboot for the franchise. Featuring the character as a crossover addition to another property could certainly do well to help keep Spawn on everybody's minds ahead of the new film and that seems to be what is happening here.

No further details were revealed at this time but we will surely provide you with all of the latest updates here on Dead Entertainment. Stay tuned for more on Mortal Kombat and the upcoming Spawn reboot.
