About Dead Entertainment

Welcome to the debut website of the Valere Media network! We are dedicated to providing horror news, articles, opinions, history, industry information, and generally anything else a horror enthusiast might enjoy. We have launched this website to bring comprehensive coverage to the genre that has brought us so much fun and terror over the years. We love horror, and if you're reading this, you might love horror too, so stick around as we celebrate blood, gore, zombies, and various other scares together.

The Valere Media platform is built to bring you content in a flexible and user-friendly way. Any tag has its own feed, so if you're only interested in part of our coverage, you're still covered, but as always we invite you to check out everything we have to offer! All Valere Media websites follow the same standards, that our content should be honest, interesting, and thorough. We respect our visitors and will always do our best to provide accurate information, and vow to always do better if we get something wrong. That is our promise.

For more information, check out our Community Guidelines, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy, or Contact Us if you have any tips, questions, suggestions, or just want to say "hi." We would be happy to hear from you!

Meet the Team

Chris Morse

Owner, Editor-in-Chief

Thanks to his friends and family, Chris grew up surrounded by plenty of horror movies and video games. From self-taught web design as a teenager to a formal education in computer science, he has always had a passion for web technologies and has channeled all of those interests into building this website platform. Chris opted to dive straight into horror with this project and is joined by some of those very same influential friends and family here on the staff. When not programming or gaming, you can find him heading to the midwest to cheer on his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers. Go Pack Go!

Ray Morse

Creative Director

Filmmaker. Podcaster. Writer. Geek. "A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die." Raised in the wastelands of New Jersey, Ray Morse is a passionate film enthusiast/maker and aspiring creative. When he is not embodying the essence of the Mungus on his weekly live podcast or consuming mass amounts of cinema/television, he can be found re-writing his Dead Entertainment bio, avoiding general responsibility, and talking at length about the things he plans to do instead of doing them.

Jay Gervais

Senior Contributor

From small town to big city and back again, Jay was born and raised in Canada and has lived his whole life there. He’s always ready to cut down any misconceptions his American friends have of life in the great white north. He’s also no stranger to this kind of community, and has plenty of experience under his bed. He enjoys all kinds of horror entertainment, as long as it’s got the heart and soul to it. When he’s not doing something here, he can be found at his post at the night’s watch, or knee deep into his school studies.

M.T. Bates

Let it be known to all the spirits, that I am a Capricorn, living in the 10th house, the house of our Lord Black Phillip. Let all the spirits here know, I am the first born son of Black Phillip. Let it be known sons and daughters, that I am an avid horror head, beginning at the tender age of six, a creative yet unmotivated horror writer, and a YouTube Gaming live streamer. Pledge yourselves, and together we can all Live Deliciously & Game. Let it be known brothers and sisters, that I, Bates, also co-host Way of Life (LIVE!) podcast with Ray Morse (Mungus). So, yeah, check that out when you aren’t enjoying the content of Dead Entertainment.

Michelle Kaotic

Growing up in Northern Ontario, Canada, I still remember that first time watching The Exorcist as a kid. While others looked away, I took in every pea green puke and head-spinning moment that I could. Since then, horror and music have become passionate hobbies in my life. Although new to the convention scene, I’ve been collecting both horror and music items for over two decades. Two moments that make these hobbies worthwhile were coming face to face with Freddy Krueger himself, the legendary Robert Englund, and shaking hands with guitar icon Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. I started Kaotic Notes back in 2015 to house the numerous reviews, interviews, photos, and videos that I had done, and continue to do so to this day. It’s only rock and roll with a touch of blood and gore. What can go wrong?!

Luke R. Maloney

The self-proclaimed “fastest gun in the North,” Luke’s affinity for the horror genre is surpassed only by his love of Westerns. While aspiring to fulfill his journalistic ambitions, he’s known to engage his adversaries in prolonged intervals of roaring brass and steely glowers before eliminating them with unrivalled speed and precision. Halloween III: Season of the Witch is his favorite horror movie, and nobody can tell him otherwise.

John Mantell

Video Editor, Graphic Designer

Born into the wastelands previously known as New Jersey, raised in the treacherous mountains dubbed "Bunny Man" Hills (previously known as Virginia), and currently residing in the Skunk Ape Swamp of the toxic algae-laden flatland called Florida, John is a hardcore true crime nerd and lover of anime, Pokémon, comics, and all things nerdy, not to mention that he is a level 5 Wizard. He's got a passion for creating graphics and videos while spending time as an amateur photographer with the hopes of one day becoming a cinematographer.
