The actress has just been announced as the horror anthology's latest cast member addition.

The American Horror Story family officially has a new member. In light of series mainstay Sarah Paulson taking Evan Peters' lead and sticking to the sidelines this time around (for the most part), there is plenty of room for new stars to shine and that's where Angelica Ross comes in.

Following her role in Pose, another project with close ties to Ryan Murphy, the AHS creator took to Instagram to formally welcome the actress to the family, so to speak. Check out the post in full below.

Apart from the fact that series mainstays Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will be stepping back for the time being, the only other information we have learned so far with respect to casting was the confirmation of Emma Roberts and Olympian Gus Kenworthy, with unconfirmed earlier reports indicating that Billy Eichner was in talks to make a return. Paulson may make a cameo or play a small part in the new season, but she is not returning for any kind of leading role this time around.

American Horror Story: 1984 will premiere on September 18th, 2019 on FX. Stay tuned to Dead Entertainment for all the latest news and updates on the upcoming season and series as a whole.
