Trailer: Shudder Announces New Joe Bob Briggs “Halloween Hootenanny” Special

It looks like Joe Bob is bringing fans a little triple feature for this Halloween season and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Joe Bob Briggs’ return to the drive-in with Shudder has been a smashing success, but it wouldn’t be right if we couldn’t get a little extra time with our favorite horror host while waiting for the second season of The Last Drive-In. A few weeks back, Briggs teased that something fun was being planned and we now know what’s going on with the official announcement of the Joe Bob’s Halloween Hootenanny special!

This triple-feature special will stream live on Shudder on October 25th at 9:00 PM eastern time and will feature movies in tune with the season, as you would expect the weekend before Halloween. If you happen to miss the livestream, don’t fret – the whole thing will be available for streaming at any time by the end of the month.

“As we were preparing for Season 2 of The Last Drive-In, we unearthed three forgotten gems that are all Halloween-themed and decided it was time for a Halloween Hootenanny,” said Briggs. “Or maybe I’m lying about that and we’re programming three iconic Halloween favorites. Or maybe we’re counter-programming with flicks that have absolutely nothing to do with Halloween.”

“The great thing about spending October 25 with us is that, as Forrest Gump says, you never know what you’re gonna get,” he continued. “What we can promise is a) I will be ridiculously nerdy about horror, and b) Darcy the Mail Girl will probably disagree with me. It’s great to be back. I missed Shudder and the Shudder faithful.”

If you are a fan of MonsterVision and the Shudder resurgence of Joe Bob Briggs, you won’t want to miss this special. Otherwise, we are all looking forward to Season 2 of The Last Drive-In, which is confirmed to be on the way but does not yet have a release date. Stay tuned for the latest news on that front!
