Resident Evil 2 has been making its rounds this summer after debuting at E3 back in June. Following up on the hype, Capcom brought the remake to Gamescom and showed off a whole lot more of Claire Redfield’s campaign, introducing William Birkin in the process. Now, at the 2018 Tokyo Game Show, we’ve got a brand-new trailer that is pulling back the curtain on the game’s updated story, also giving us a more formal introduction to Sherry Birkin and Ada Wong at the same time.

This latest story trailer primarily shows off some key narrative moments but mixes in a welcome bit of gameplay as well. It dives a little deeper into some of the main story elements, such as the Birkin family and laboratory as well as Ada and her mysterious motivations. Also highlighted in the new footage is Sherry’s abduction by Police Chief Brian Irons and even more William Birkin G-Virus goodness.

It’s also worth pointing out that the trailer features a few scenes you may recognize from the original game, such as the truck crash that leaves Leon and Claire separated by fire and promising to meet up again at the police station. Aside from that moment, however, their paths are mostly diverged and the trailer highlights the interactions between the important characters from each campaign. Have a look at the new trailer above and get yourself ready to return to Raccoon City.

Resident Evil 2 arrives on January 25th, 2019 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
