Check Out Even More Resident Evil 2 Gameplay on PS4

The latest livestream event showed off more than previous gameplay videos.

Yesterday at Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong 2018, Sony held a livestream event showing off Resident Evil 2 on the PlayStation 4. This extended gameplay video takes us even farther than what we were able to see at E3, showing off a substantial amount of regular gameplay, combat, cinematics, and more. All of the classic Resident Evil staples are here, from the puzzle solving to the notes you can pick up around the police station, except with a lot more storytelling.

As we saw from the game’s official trailer, fellow R.P.D. officer Marvin Branagh also has a lot more to say this time around, which certainly matches up to Capcom’s vision of creating a Resident Evil 2 experience with a much stronger narrative. They had previously revealed that this game is not a scene-by-scene remake of the original by any means, but rather it is more like a re-imagining that allows them to tell a much better, more fleshed out story for players to really get immersed in.

The game looks great, but the visuals might just be at their best in the darker scenes, where the RE Engine shines and creates off a hyper-realistic and extremely creepy atmosphere. We saw a bit of that in the first extended gameplay footage from E3, but this latest video has a lot more. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments below or on social media.

Resident Evil 2 will hit stores on January 25th, 2019, two decades after the original, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
