Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray Reportedly Join the Cast of Zombieland 2

A pair of legendary actors has reportedly joined Zombieland 2 with the recent scoop that Ghostbusters alumni Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray have been added to the cast of the upcoming sequel. You may recall that the latter actor appeared in the first film but he is set to return once more, along with the rest of the main cast, to reprise his role as a fictional version of himself. According to Geeks WorldWide, Aykroyd will appear in the new film in a similar capacity as well.

Specifics regarding their roles are not yet known at this time but it's good to see the pair of actors joining the sequel, which is sure to be a great time considering that Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin are all returning as well. It would seem that on the 10th anniversary of the film, the team is going all-out to make this next trip to Zombieland a memorable one.

Ruben Fleischer is also returning to the director's chair while the first film's screenwriters, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, penned the new script as well. Production on Zombieland 2 kicks off this month and the film is scheduled to hit theaters on October 11th, 2019. Stay tuned for all of the latest updates on the sequel here on Dead Entertainment.
