This was a big day for fans of the fast-paced, action-packed franchise.

Capcom showed up at Gamescom this week with a lot of love for fans of the Devil May Cry franchise. The latest installment, Devil May Cry 5, was unveiled back at E3 in June and now has a release date as of today. The brand-new trailer, which you can watch above, shows off a lot of action and some very big enemies, ending with the official release date of March 8th, 2019.

The game was previously slated for a less-specific spring timeframe but it looks like we will be able get our hands on this one sooner than later.

All signs are pointing to this being a return to form for the franchise, especially considering the latest footage trickling out from Gamescom. IGN posted a beefy video featuring 15 minutes of all-new gameplay and it’s looking every bit as smooth and stylish as Capcom has promised. You can watch that video and see what we mean below.

Think the trailer and gameplay are enough to hold you over until next March? We are personally locked and loaded for this one. It’s looking exactly like a modern Devil May Cry game should look and for Capcom, this was a very satisfying Gamescom showing all around. Devil May Cry 5 will hit stores on March 8th, 2019 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
