New George R. R. Martin Horror Series Gets a First Look
Nightflyers is a sci-fi/horror series based on the author's 1980 novella of the same name.
By Chris Morse
Before you ask, yes, the author behind the hit HBO adaptation Game of Thrones has written other books besides his A Song of Ice and Fire series! Way back in 1980, George R. R. Martin wrote a novella (longer than a short story, but shorter than a full novel) called Nightflyers that was his take on the kind of science-fiction/horror mash-up we've all come to know and love from the likes of franchises such as Alien.
Now, this story is being reimagined as a TV series for SYFY, who just released the above first look video giving fans of the genre and author a little hint of what to expect from the upcoming show. The kind of sci-fi/horror vibe we're getting from this preview has been done before, but we're still interested in seeing what Martin's take on it will look like once it gets going.
Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments below.
