Sabrina Casts a Spell on Netflix

The teenage witch leaves the CW in her dust, but will she visit Riverdale?

By Ray Morse

Back in September, news broke that The CW and Warner Bros. Television were fast-tracking a live action Sabrina the Teenage Witch series based on Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s groundbreaking Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic run. The potential one-hour drama was originally set to debut during the 2018-2019 season and serve as a companion series to their compelling Archie Comics adaption, Riverdale.

Today, however, Variety is reporting that Sabrina has mounted her broom and set course for the streaming giant, Netflix, with a monstrous 20-episode, two season order. It remains uncertain if this iteration of the Teenage Witch will still exist within The CW’s Riverdale universe or if she will be casting her spells by her lonesome. With the creative force behind Riverdale still actively developing this show, it seems like its not entirely out of the realm of possibility.

Stay tuned as we conjure up more information!
