Yesterday, 20th Century Fox released a brand-new trailer for Shane Black’s upcoming The Predator. The film is looking spectacular and should satiate long-time fans of the series as well as those new to it. Check out the latest trailer above and make your own judgments.

This latest video shows us more of what we’ve seen already from the first and second trailers, which you can check out here on Dead Entertainment if you haven't already, but there are a number of new shots shown for the very first time. This one elaborates a bit more on some of the characters' personalities while keeping others a secret until the film is released. There are also very clear shots of the Predators, of which there will be several in this film.

We had recently speculated that one of these could be a human-bred super Predator created by scientists, and this may still be a possibility, as we see a new shot of scientists experimenting on a Predator, which eventually escapes and wreaks havoc. One thing is for certain, however. The military is deeply interested in the species and using their technology for their own gains.

The trailers seem to be purposely misleading, where it’s hinted in this one the super Predators were on a crashed ship and could be inadvertently unleashed later in the film, while other Predators seemingly arrive on Earth to hunt down fellow members of their kind, and likely humans as well. Of course, we won’t know for sure until the film is out!

The Predator is about a young boy who accidentally triggers the return of the lethal hunters to Earth after toying around with a piece of their technology. When a Predator ship crash-lands on the planet, a small town is turned upside-down and it falls to a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers, along with a disgruntled science teacher, to save the world. However, as they will come to learn, they are ill-prepared to fight these stronger, smarter, and deadlier Predators.

The film stars Boyd Holbrook (Logan) as Quinn McKenna, Trevante Rhodes (Westworld) as Williams, Jacob Tremblay as Rory McKenna, Keegan-Michael Key (Keanu) as Coyle, Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse) as Casey Bracket, Sterling K. Brown (Black Panther), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones) as Lynch, Thomas Jane (The Expanse) as Baxley, Augusto Aguilera as Nettles, Yvonne Strahovski (Dexter, Mass Effect 2) as Emily, and Jake Busey (Starship Troopers) as the son of Keyes.

The Predator is landing in theaters on September 14th and will also be coming out in 3D. While the film wasn’t originally intended to be in the format, it was later converted to 3D in post-production. The film is directed by Shane Black (Iron Man 3).
