Gears of War 5 Trailer Sets an Ominous Tone

During their recent E3 press conference, Microsoft announced and revealed the first story trailer for Gears of War 5, now titled as simply Gears 5. From the trailer, which gives the series a much more cinematic look than previous entries, we learned that the story will continue directly after Gears of War 4.

Kait Diaz once again teams up with Del Walker, J.D. Fenix, and his father, the original trilogy's protagonist, Marcus Feix after having a series of nightmares and premonitions of things to come. This leads the group on a mission to explore Kait's background and her apparent connection to the Locust Horde. The trailer also showcases a number of new enemy types and some fairly visceral combat that looks quite impressive.
