New details are slowly coming to light regarding James Wan’s upcoming new horror project, which seems to be developing under the tentative title, Silvercup. Earlier this week, we learned that Annabelle Wallis was cast in the film and Variety reports today that she will be joined by British actor George Young, who will play the male lead in the story.

These two stars should fill the key roles of the film, but further casting will likely come along sooner rather than later. As mentioned in our last update on the project, Wallis previously worked with Wan within the Conjuring universe as she appeared in both Annabelle and Annabelle: Creation over the past few years. On the other hand, Young is known for his work on The CW’s Containment. Specific character details are not yet available at this time.

The specifics of this project still very much remain a mystery, with plot details being kept heavily under wraps, but on top of directing, Wan will also co-write alongside Ingrid Bisu (The Nun). The film is being produced via the Atomic Monster banner, which is led by the director and longtime collaborator Michael Clear. Financing are Starlight Media and Midas Innovation, who will retain distributing rights in China.

Filming on Silvercup is set to kick off this fall in Los Angeles and should be complete before Wan moves forward on Aquaman 2 next year. As previously mentioned, details are still fairly slim right now, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated with all the latest here on Dead Entertainment.
