Official Trailer for Into the Dark's "School Spirit" Gets Literal

It's a Breakfast Club throwback, only with an evil spirit bound to the school.

The next chapter of Hulu's horror anthology, Into the Dark, is set to arrive on August 2nd and the official trailer for the episode, titled School Spirit, is here at last. When official descriptions made it sounds like a horror version of The Breakfast Club, they certainly weren't kidding around. Although there are some clear and obvious throwbacks to that classic, taking center stage in the trailer is the literal spirit haunting the school. Thus... school spirit. It all makes sense now!

In the episode, six social outcasts, played by Corey Fogelmanis (Ma), Annie Q. (The Leftovers), Jessi Case (Mother’s Day), Julian Works (9-1-1), Philip Labes (The OA), and Hugo Armstrong (Fear the Walking Dead), are stuck in weekend detention and then confronted by the school’s legendary hauntings. The episode will premiere on August 2nd on Hulu.

We're not quite sure what holiday September's feature-length installment is supposed to represent, but it is said to follow several teen girls who perform a secret ritual at a Purity retreat. When one of them begins to see a supernatural entity, the terrifying question emerges of what is more dangerous: the demon they've unleashed or the pressure they feel to conform to their father's expectations?

Pure is written and directed by Hannah Macpherson, based on a story from Paul Fischer and Paul Davis, and will debut on September 6th. Starring in the episode is Jahkara Smith (NOS4A2), McKaley Miller (Ma), Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights), Annalisa Cochrane (Cobra Kai), Ciara Bravo (Wayne), Jim Klock (Wounds) and T.C. Carter (Blocks).

Hulu’s Into the Dark continues with School Spirit arriving on August 2nd, 2019. The first ten feature-length episodes are currently streaming, so there’s no reason not to get caught up. Otherwise, stay tuned to Dead Entertainment for more coverage on this series ahead.
