Paramount Pictures has released its second trailer for the upcoming Pet Sematary remake, which is set to hit theaters this April, and this one features a decent chunk of new footage for you to chew on. In addition, it has also been announced that the film will be making its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, TX as the event’s closing night selection. SXSW runs from March 8th through 17th.

Pet Sematary will be in good horror company at the festival as Jordan Peele’s Us will also be making an appearance with its own world premiere scheduled for the opening day. With Us kicking off the festivities and Pet Sematary closing it out, not to mention the Lupita Nyong'o starring zombie horror-comedy Little Monsters, SXSW is sure to be a fantastic time for those who can appreciate a good scare.

The new adaptation of Pet Sematary stars Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as Dr. Louis Creed, Amy Seimetz (Alien: Covenant, Stranger Things) as Rachel Creed, and John Lithgow (Interstellar, 3rd Rock from the Sun) as Jud Crandall.

Pet Sematary will be released early this spring on April 5th, 2019. The film is being directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer for Paramount Pictures. The duo is known for directing other films such as Absence and Starry Eyes, as well as a few episodes of the Scream TV series.
