Netflix has released the official trailer for its upcoming horror series, The Haunting of Hill House. As you may or may not already know, this original series is based on a 1959 horror novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson. The television adaptation is sure to feature a number of changes, but being based on a fairly-acclaimed novel, of which Stephen King himself is a huge fan, is a great start.
From the official synopsis released alongside the trailer, here's what you can expect of this modern take on a classic American ghost story.
On October 12th, you're expected. The Haunting of Hill House is a modern reimagining of the iconic novel, about 5 siblings who grew up in the most famous haunted house in America.
This series is written and directed by Mike Flanagan, who is also directing the upcoming film adaptation of Stephen King's Doctor Sleep, the 2013 sequel novel to The Shining. He will also serve as showrunner for the series moving forward, should it receive more than one season on Netflix.
The first season of The Haunting of Hill House will debut on October 12th, featuring 10 episodes in total.
