One of the strangest surprises from last night's Game Awards 2017 was the announcement trailer for a World War Z video game based off of the 2013 Brad Pitt film of the same name. It was itself based on a much more enjoyable book written by Max Brooks called - you guessed it - World War Z.

Very little information is known about the WWZ game other than it will be a third-person shooter with up to four player co-op. Zombies will act as they did in the movie, running at full speed and engaging in "ant swarming" tactics to get up walls and buildings. The game also appears to take place in several different cities across the globe based on the imagery and dialogue showcased.

World War Z will receive a release for PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One sometime in 2018. What are your thoughts? Do we really need a game based on a mediocre movie released four years ago? Comment below.
